As most of you know, Crazy Bitch Tea was created from a very interesting story (about helping women).  Our mission and goal to help, inspire, and empower women has grown into a huge cause, based on the response we have gotten from women everywhere thanking us for what we are doing!  Boldly creating a company with a radical name and social mission:)

We have started the ‘Crazy Bitch Tea’s Empowering Your Spirit’ project,  whereas I would be embarking on public speaking events and spreading the word about womens’ empowerment through as many venues as possible.  In an effort to make this come to fruition in a ‘much larger’ way, we have started a campaign to fund a commercial web video to get this project off the ground and get more attention for women EVERYWHERE!

Our goal for this accomplishment is to raise awareness of the need for women’s empowerment, bring attention to the plight of battered and abused women, women who do not believe in themselves enough to create their passion.  I want to be able to get in front of women, and speak about how WE can help bring awareness, how directly we can get involved with causes that help women.

We are happy and proud to be part of the launch of a new project called Synergist- a crowd funding site for socially minded entrepreneurs!  Please take a moment and check it out-read what we are doing, and why!!  JOIN us by helping with a donation, or by spreading the word about our mission!!

Introduction… This blog was written by Ashley Flitter, our Marketing Director (Chief Tea Liberator), about her first day in Vegas having fun and libations while waiting for Robin and Lynn to arrive.

A few weeks ago the lovely ladies of Crazy Bitch Tea attended the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas. We were all coming from different parts of the country at different times the day before the expo began. I arrived very early in the day so I set out to do some exploring.

Little did I know that a few cocktails and dollars later I’d be chatting with one of our tea idols.

Since we were staying at the LVH, which is off the strip, I walked to the strip and into the first hotel I saw to grab some lunch and play a little blackjack before going back to our hotel to meet up with Lynn and Robin (both of whom I’d never met in person). I walked into the Encore and sat down at a blackjack table. I love meeting new people, so as soon as I sat down I started chatting up the other players, the dealers, and even the pit boss. Before I knew it, a few hours had flown by and Lynn and Robin were on their way to the hotel.

I wanted to meet up with them as soon as possible, so I decided I’d play a few more hands and then head back. Just then, a man sat down next to me and asked me how I was doing and why I was in Vegas. Without looking up, I told him I was in Vegas for the Tea Expo and he exclaimed that he was as well. I looked up at him and recognized him immediately: It was Steven Nakisher from Talbott’s Teas (as seen on Shark Tank).Lynn had sent me the video of them on Shark Tank just weeks before the expo so I knew his story well. Not only was it that I’d just seen him on the show, but I also knew that he was one of the people in the industry that Lynn looks up to.

Not wanting to stand up Lynn and Robin, but knowing that they’d appreciate why, I decided to stay and talk with Steven about the business and introduce him to our brand. He said he was just looking at our site a few weeks ago – what perfect timing! – I told him we’d just updated the site so he should take a look. He told me about how he loved our brand and what we stood for and for me it was a completely serendipitous moment.

I rushed back to the hotel and told Lynn and Robin all about it – they couldn’t believe it! Throughout the rest of the weekend we met up with Steven and Shane (founder of Talbott’s Teas) and talked business and got to know them a bit better as well. It’s amazing how a chance meeting at a blackjack table can lead to such amazing relationships. Needless to say, it’s an expo we won’t soon forget!

Amanda- I think I finally just stepped into my ‘President’ shoes and took control where it needed to be.  I finally figured out that I actually run my own company and am allowed to make actual decisions, and it was a pretty cool revelation.  Believe me,  I really think I hadn’t quite grasped that reality yet.  I also learned how to let go and allow the people that I entrusted to work with me do what they do best.  It’s a delicate balance.  Grasping the ‘being in control but not controlling’ thing.

We have come a long way since the beginning, which is only just a bit over a year ago. We have an awesome new logo and some new faces, and we continue to be humbled and grateful for our tea-drinking sisters (and dudes)!
